I completed my master’s degree in counselling psychology at Yorkville University and my internship at KW Counselling Services, a charitable organization in Kitchener-Waterloo. I am a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and am a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
In addition to providing counselling support at a community non-profit organization, my past clinical experience includes providing crisis and other immediate support to adolescents and adults seeking counselling support through their employee assistance program or student support program.
Through a person-centred approach I aim to create a warm, supportive, and inclusive environment where patients can feel comfortable being open and forthcoming. My goal is to empower patients as the experts in their own lives while helping them to meet their personal therapy goals through evidence-based approaches. My clinical experience includes providing therapeutic support to individual adults, individual adolescents, and families to address a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, identity concerns, self-esteem, trauma, relational concerns, grief, and more. I utilize primarily an integrated solution-focused and cognitive behavioural modality and have additional experience approaching concerns through narrative and dialectical behavioural modalities.
At McKenzie Psychology I work with patients ages 16 and older, covering a wide range of concerns as listed above. I work under the supervision of Dr. Sandra McKenzie.
