Dr. Elizabeth Thornley
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

I completed my doctoral degree in school and applied child psychology at the University of Western Ontario. I am registered as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario to provide services for children and adolescents. I am a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Ontario Psychological Association.

I have worked with children and youth in various capacities for over 10 years. My professional experience includes assessment and intervention services for children and youth in a range of settings, including community mental health clinics, juvenile justice settings, school boards, and private practices. This includes assessment and intervention services for behavioural and emotional regulation difficulties, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma symptoms, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. I also conduct psychoeducational assessments with children and adolescents.

In addition to my own clinical work, I provide supervision to doctoral-level associates and psychotherapists at McKenzie Psychology. I previously provided supervision to psychology graduate students at the Child and Youth Development Clinic at the University of Western Ontario.

I have been practicing at McKenzie Psychology since 2019. In my clinical work, I strive to be strengths-based and person-centred to create a warm and safe space for children, youth, and their families. I value the individuality of each youth that I work with and love to incorporate creative and arts-based approaches to treatment. It is an honour to work with other passionate professionals at McKenzie Psychology who value resiliency, growth, and a spirit of collaboration.
