Kimberly Dossett
REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (QUALIFYING)

I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. At McKenzie Psychology I work under the supervision of Dr. Sandra McKenzie to provide evidence-based services to children, adolescents and adults.

I completed my master’s degree, as well as doctoral-level courses and practica, in clinical psychology at Western University. My clinical experience includes providing assessment and treatment to individuals and families to address difficulties such as mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and attachment disturbances, emotional and behavioural regulation issues, identity and relationship concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder and neurodevelopmental disorders. I have worked in hospitals, schools, and community mental health and tertiary care agencies.

As a clinician, I strive to build strong, supportive therapeutic relationships with my patients, which I believe is the basis for making meaningful change. I draw on a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities to meet the needs of each person. This includes aspects from emotion-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and psychodynamic and humanistic approaches.
